Blu & Exile are one of the most formidable forces on California’s underground Hip-Hop scene. A prefect MC & Producer combo in the mould of Guru and DJ Premier their sounds fit like a glove and are greater then the sum of their already considerable parts.

Their 2007 debut ‘Below The Heavens’ was an instant classic that saw comparisons drawn to the likes of The Pharcyde & Jurassic 5. Having worked with the likes of Slum Village and been introduced through Aloe Blacc it is little surprise their standing as a favourite amongst fans of soulful Hip-Hop is unparalleled.

Blu is as prolific as he is staunchly independent. Nine albums, three instrumental projects and two mixtapes, all released in the last seven years, included what was due to be his first major label project ‘No York’ which haven fallen out with the label he decided to release for free on the internet. All this from a man who plans to retire from rap by the age of 30, so you better see him live while you can!

Joining them on stage for this ‘Dirty Science’ label showcase are Dag Savage, which consists of Exile this time alongside Johaz. Having recently released their debut 16-track album their first show in the UK is sure to be a memorable one.

Filling this already phenomenal line up are Detroit’s Mello Music Group member Quelle Chris & Denmark Vassey, the man confident enough to call his debut album ‘Cult Classic’. With both having distinct styles that have gained them a strong underground following this is a real rap show for real rap fans.

And if all this were not enough how about hanging around for #TDO300 with DJ Jazzy Jeff?
